In 2022, Art4Giving made a donation to Operation New Hope, whose mission is to support former prisoners with life and job skills training and find them employment.

People returning from incarceration face a multitude of barriers. Employment, transportation, and housing are three of the greatest obstacles, according to Operation New Hope. Without adequate housing, transportation, and employment, people are far more likely to re-offend and return to incarceration.

Created in 1999 by Kevin Gay, Operation New Hope has provided life-changing services to more than 10,000 former prisoners.

  • Since 2018, Operation New Hope has delivered more than 73,000 hours of case management, mental health counseling and career coaching.
  • Ex-offenders who have enrolled in one of Operation New Hope’s programs have a recidivism rate below 9% (far below the national average)

Operation New Hope has been recognized and applauded by the last four administrations.
